Senior Engineer – Regional Manager I Houston, TX

OEI has been a civil/environmental consulting firm for 35 years providing water resource solutions to our clients throughout Texas and beyond. OEI is in a growth mode seeking an experienced Senior level engineer with 7 to 12 years of experience to lead our Houston office. Our culture is engaging and flexible with family being the foundation of our company. Location: Houston, TX

Position: Regional Manager. You will be responsible for developing a regional office in the Houston market, managing our existing clients and developing new client cities, counties, MUD’s and others. You will be responsible for design, winning work, proposals, developing staff, adding resources to meet the needs of your office and meeting specific company metrics.

Purpose: Open and grow the Houston office for civil/environmental engineering with emphasis on water resource projects. These projects include water supply/treatment/ transfer facilities and pipelines, wastewater treatment and reuse, lift stations, sanitary sewer line, utility relocations, utility rehabilitation and drainage. Transportation shall be added as needed and this business group shall be developed by the Regional Manager.

You will play a key role in the evolution of our design culture and drive initiatives that enable creative thinking to achieve greater results. You will play a key role in hiring a team of engineers, scientists, and CAD designers along with support staff to excel in building our regional team. You will need to be highly engaged in the recruiting process to build the team to lead a design group with design excellence. You will lead the team in sharing ideas and design approaches to render optimum solutions and financing alternatives for our clients. You will approach management in a way that is informed on the technologies that are available to provide the best technical approaches to design solutions. Senior CAD Designer I Houston, TX

OEI is in a growth mode seeking an experienced Senior level CAD Designer with 5 to 10 years of experience. Our culture is engaging and flexible with family being the foundation of our company. Position: Senior CAD Designer. You will be responsible for setting the standards that have been developed for our graphic design drawings. You will be an active leader in the preliminary and design of all plans that are required for the various project types. You shall assist in the coordination of other offices in recruiting CAD designers and training CAD staff. Your role will be integral with engineering to ensure data is collected for the development of design drawings.

You will communicate with clients and direct reports the company mission, vision and strategy. You will play a key role in the training and education of our design staff deploying new technologies such as AI initiatives that enable creative thinking to achieve greater results. You will play a key role in training and recruiting CAD designers. You will lead the team in developing new technologies for use in design graphics to provide detailed and precise drawings depicting the constructed project. You will always be attuned to and informed on new technologies and techniques that are available to provide the best technical approaches to design graphic presentations. ArcGIS Tech I Lubbock, TX

Position: ArcGIS Tech. You will use ArcGIS to software to gather and analyze data to develop maps. You will join a Team to use spatial database information to assist in determining drainage patterns, design of water and wastewater systems, assist in collecting data for permit applications. In your role you will assist with engineering designs using and leveraging GIS resources to create graphic reports and documents for clients and government agencies.

Purpose: OEI is growing, and GIS is a large part of our technical resources that we provide to our clients. To meet the required data driven technologies additional experienced ArcGIS technicians are needed. OEI is adding proven GIS Tech’s to our staff to serve our varied client base from West Texas to the Gulf Coast. Qualifications

  • 2+ years of ArcGIS experience
  • Understanding and use of spatial data and manipulation
  • Collect field data from clients through on-site and other databases
  • Develop standard and custom maps, ability to convert data for GIS mapping
  • Maintain GIS databases
  • Bachelor’s degree in geographic information systems
  • GIS certification a plus
  • Experience using ESRI ArcGIS software products such as ArcView, Arc Info, ArcMap & others
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Valid driver’s license

Engineering Administrative Coordinator I Lubbock, TX

Position: Administrative Coordinator. Your position is one of importance within the office of OEI. You shall assist in coordinating correspondence with clients and governmental agencies. You will assist in directing communication and schedules with engineers for meetings and conferences. Presentations are also required, and you will be interactive, assisting in the preparation of PowerPoint and other types of presentations for our professional staff.

Purpose: OEI is growing and with growth comes more work and correspondence as well as scheduling with clients outside the office.  Our primary clients are governmental entities, and we interface with regulatory agencies in providing expert consulting to our clients.  Your position as an Administrative Coordinator provides the needed backup to our professional staff to support their schedules and responses in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 years of professional assistant experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in assisting in the preparation of PowerPoint presentations
  • Bachelor’s or Associate degree in business, english or journalism a plus
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Valid driver’s license & reliable transportation
